Welcome to my site

I'm Peter Malpas, Lancashire County Councillor for Chorley West, including Charnock Richard, Chorley North West, Coppull and Heskin. I was elected to Lancashire County Council in June 2009 with 2,981 votes and a majority of 889, and on a turnout of 40.75%.

On Lancashire County Council I sit on the Development Control, Regulatory and Scrutiny Committees. I also represent the County Council on the Standing Advisory Committee on Religious Education, the West Pennine Moors Management Committee and on the Combined Lancashire Fire Authority.

After making a Lancashire County Council Local Members Grant of £500 to Chorley Clients Forum, I went to visit them today to meet them and hear more about the valuable work they do. The voluntary group, currently based in Friday Street, give valuable help and support for those who have become dependant or have been dependent on alcohol.  Clients come from all walks of life, and from all backgrounds and ages.
